A Mullah For All Seasons

We’ve written numerous times about the notorious Mullah Krekar, the Firebrand of the Fjords. He’s the Norwegian equivalent of Anjem Choudary, with a fistful of beard and bellyful of attitude. His various… ahem… indiscretions would have had him kicked out of any normal country. But he can’t be deported; his life might be in danger if he were sent back to Iraq. Can’t violate his human rights, you know.

The Mad Mullah made headlines again a couple of days ago by declaring that 9-11 had failed to have its intended effect. Those arrogant American infidels are still doing grievous harm to Islam! He called on his fellow mujahideen to carry out more attacks on the Great Satan and finish the job properly.

Horrors! Was he arrested and locked up for incitement?

Actually, no.

Did the police haul him down to the station and sweat him for a few hours about his radical opinions?

Nope, not so far.

Did they at least confiscate and x-ray his socks?

Not at all. They’re not racists, you know!

No, Mullah Krekar gets somewhat more lenient treatment than native Norwegian bloggers. That’s because of all the cultural enrichment he brings to Norway.

The leaders of the Progress Party don’t like what the miscreant mullah is doing, and have lodged a protest. According to The Local:

Norway’s Progress Party has called for the immediate arrest of Mullah Krekar after the firebrand jihadist spoke of the need for renewed terrorist attacks on the United States.

The Norway-based extremist made the comments in an interview with Finland’s MTV3. He also claimed that Islam “will control the entire world” within the next 20 years.

More than a decade on from the devastating terrorist attacks in the United States that left almost 3,000 people dead, Krekar said:

“They have learned nothing from the 9/11 attacks. That’s why they need two more attacks. It’s the only way the Americans will understand that we [Muslims] are people and not animals or slaves.”

Well, all this is pretty clear. The man’s obviously an extremist, and we know how Norway treats extremists!

But one man’s extremism is another man’s cultural enrichment, so Mullah Krekar gets a pass.

He also argued in the three-minute interview that further terrorist attacks were unavoidable, VG reports.

“It’s going to happen. It’s meant to happen. Jihad is meant to happen, I’m certain of it. Jihad is like a cat. If you lock up a cat it becomes dangerous,” said Krekar.

And he hasn’t even been locked up yet — just think how dangerous he would be if they actually parked his halal butt in the slammer!

Time may be running out for Mullah Krekar, however. He has issued death threats to several major politicians, which is a no-no, even in Modern Multicultural Norway. Especially since some of his targets weren’t even in the Progress Party. What was he thinking of?

Mr. Krekar is scheduled to appear in court in February. Stay tuned.
