Gates of Vienna News Feed 1/19/2012I was out most of the day paying a long-anticipated visit to the dentist and doing other chores. That’s why posting has been light.

In economic news, the Fitch ratings agency says that it may downgrade the debt six Eurozone countries before the end of January. France is said not to be among the affected countries. Meanwhile, Britain’s total debt is now five times as high as its GDP.

A safe containing radioactive material was stolen from a nuclear power plant in Egypt. Special investigative units have been deployed by the Egyptian government to track down the stolen material.

In other news, a theatre group in Denmark says it will stage a monologue based on Anders Behring Breivik’s manifesto. Its plans have provoked criticism from Norway.
